DESCRIPTION OF COURSE – This is the second class in the Media Technology program and is a full year class.  This course uses our 2-camera television studio and TriCaster computer effects system to introduce students to studio and control room operations, as well as the technology behind live webcasting.  Students will work as part of a production crew on live program. They will have the opportunity to serve as camera operator, digital effects operator, audio operator, teleprompter operator, on-air talent, and director for various projects utilizing the latest in green screen and computer generated 3D virtual set technology.  Some completed projects may be entered in regional competitions.  This class is designed for motivated students with a strong interest in broadcast journalism and related technologies.

 

This course has a nominal fee to offset the cost of recording media used by students in the class. Parents may be required to sign an equipment liability waiver to allow students to sign out equipment overnight.

 

Students must successfully complete this class prior to taking course 077.
